For the communication process, the question of the means and methods of transmitting information is of great importance, since the success or failure of communication also depends on this. 

M. McLuzn pays more attention to the message transmission channel. The essence of what he formulated in the 60s. twentieth century The phrase "the media is the message" boils down to the fact that in the communicative environment of the new "electronic society", it is not the information itself (the message) that matters, but the means of transmission (the medium). 

 The communication process is also carried out in a computer environment using computer communication channels and telecommunications, which allows us to talk about the formation of computer-mediated communication, or digital communication.

To date, there is no single definition of the term "digital communication" and there is no complete list of information transmission channels. 

Usually, the Internet in all its capabilities is referred to as a digital communication channel, but this alone is not enough.

 It is best to define digital communication as the process of transmitting information in spoken or written form, which is carried out using computer networks, telecommunications, internet and multimedia. Under the means of transmitting information in digital communication we understand: computers, computer networks, telephones, television, etc. 

Through the transfer of information, or communication channels, we propose to define the following: 

1. Information systems. 

2. website. 

3. Virtual advertisements and advertisements on television.

4. Channels for the transmission of company internal information.

5. Long distance communication channel.

Consider the listed channels and their functions in more detail. 

1.  Information systems (IS). 

According to the definition given in the State Standard (GOST), an information system is a system that regulates the accumulation and manipulation of information about problem areas

The information system is designed to timely provide management bodies with the necessary and sufficient information for making decisions, the quality of which ensures the highly efficient operation of the management object and its divisions. In each of the 1Cs, work is organized and carried out in the following areas: 

• identification of information needs;

• selection of information sources;

• information collection; 

• input information from external or internal sources; 

• processing information, assessing its completeness and significance, presenting it in a convenient form; 

• output information to provide it to consumers or transfer to other systems; 

• manage the use of information to assess trends, develop forecasts, evaluate alternatives for decisions and actions, develop strategies; 

• organizational feedback in the information processed by the people of this organization, correction of input information.

2. Company website. 

A website (English website, from web - web and site - "place") is one or more web pages available on the Internet via the HTTP / HTTPS protocol. 

Web pages are linked by one address and basically one theme, one design . The company website performs the following functions:

 1) Information. Providing information about the company is one of the most important functions of the site. The site will contain general information about the company, a description of its activities, a list of key clients and their reviews, location and contact information. New clients often have to share the same information, which is just a waste of time, in addition, information about the company changes periodically. The fullness of the company's site greatly simplifies work with clients, the site is a kind of analogue of a virtual office around the clock. 

2) Advertising. Internet advertising is the cheapest and one of the most effective types of advertising. The popularity of the Internet has only grown over time and information about the company can be seen by many people. Potential customers are increasingly looking for information about the product or service they need on the Internet. 

3) Commercial. Through these sites, goods can be sold to buyers.

 4) to support the company's image. 

On the business card of any serious company, in addition to the address and phone number, there is always a website address where you can get acquainted with the company's services. Most people prefer goods and services from companies that have a good image and openly talk about their activities, creating a company website is a great way to show openness and create a serious and reliable company image.

3. Virtual advertising and television advertising.

The following types of advertising can be attributed to the most effective and actively used in the Internet industry : 

1. Placement of information in Internet resource catalogs.

2. Registration in search engines and search promotion.

3. Ranking organization.

4. Declaration board and forum.

5. Marketing Emails. 

6. Link exchange.

7. Partnership program.

8. Sponsors.

9. Banner ads.

A range of opportunities for direct advertising of goods and services over the Internet includes: posting information about a product on its own Web server, posting advertisements on other servers, sending e-mails; participation in teleconferencing. 

The feature of advertising on the Internet is the need for additional advertising from your own Web server. 

Television advertising has the following advantages: 

broad scope; 

• high level of attention grabbing;

• high quality reproduction of advertising messages using images, sound, movement. 

Disadvantages:

• high production and advertising costs; 

• short duration of ad contact; 

• low audience selectivity; 

• ad saturation.

4. The company's internal information transmission channel. 

An intranet is a company's internal network that uses Internet standards, technologies, and software. 

A computer network that uses Internet technology, but at the same time is a private company network. The network supports Internet services such as email, websites, FTP servers, etc., but within a single company. Intranet networks are connected to external networks, including the Internet, but as a rule, through means of protection against unauthorized access. 

The intranet can be isolated from external users or function as an autonomous network without outside access .

 All communication channels can be divided based on the type of communication into : 

1. Electronic communication tools: e-mail, voice mail. 

2. Electronic conferencing tools: data conferencing; voice conference; video conferencing; Discussion forum; friendly chat system; electronic meeting system. 

Electronic communication tools allow you to send messages, documents and data in the form of text, voice, multimedia over a network to a computer. Email is a fast and convenient way to communicate and form strategic business relationships. 

It has also been transferred to the environment to transport electronic copies of documents, archive data, and contain multimedia information. 

The downside of email is the information overload caused by the large number of messages from multiple sources. Especially the large flow of unnecessary information without protection. 

Students of the Russian State University for the Humanities were asked several questions to find out which means of digital communication they prefer. 

Based on the responses, the majority chose computer networks 50%, the remaining 30% chose the telephone, 16% chose television, the remaining 4% had difficulty answering. ***
